Deputising Musicians (Deps)
We've all been there: a last minute injury, illness, travel issues, or family emergency places a booked gig in jeopardy - With tickets sold, and hotels and travel booked by your audience, the last thing any musician wants is to cancel.
We have a large database of singers and deputising musicians covering a huge swathe of instruments and genres. So whether you need a punk bassist, lead guitarist, jazz trombonist or a soprano for the solo in your choir's big performance, we have your stand-in saviours on call.
If you are looking for a dep at very short notice (under 48 hours) it's often best to phone us directly on: 07931770980
If you would like to enquire about a dep further in advance, or wish to be added to our database of available deputising musicians, please email the link below. Applicants should state their location, travel distance, whether they read music/charts/tab/play by ear and provide links to examples of their work.
Recording & Live Sound Production
Studio recording can be an expensive gamble; even if you have recommendations from other artists, there is no guarantee a producer in a specific field will understand the intricacies of your genre and requirements. Our team can listen to examples of your rough demos or previous recordings and match you to a studio and producer best suited and that meets your budget,
We cover multitrack, live room and large open-setting recording to ensure all needs are covered from the solo project to the large-scale choir.
Our consultants have worked in the fields of radio production, sound editing and therapeutic audio recording, so are equally able to recommend studios and producers for podcasters, therapists, voice actors, showreel recordings and audiobook narrators.
Live
We can provide engineers on an ad-hoc basis to run your desk for any gig and also work with a range of live sound teams, with state of the art equipment who can be contracted to set-up, sound check and run your event entirely, leaving you to turn up, plug in and play.
Touring
With our highly knowledgeable consultant team, Capital Soundwaves can offer bespoke tours for bands across Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom. We can provide full itineraries tailored to the specific needs and preferences of each band, ensuring they have the best possible experience whilst on the road.
The company takes care of everything from travel arrangements to accommodation and venue liaison, so bands can focus solely on their performances. Capital Soundwaves' services are available not only in Scotland but also in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, making it a go-to provider for both domestic bands and those travelling from Europe, America and beyond.
New Band Management / Advice
Any experienced (old) musician would tell you that if they had their time again, they would have approached things differently with their early bands. New bands are the future of the genres and music we love, so we are happy to match you to an advisor, knowledgeable in your genre, to offer advice and to help you avoid pitfalls.
Having someone on hand to sit in on a rehearsal to offer feedback, or on the end of an email to double check if a venue deal offered is a good one, is an excellent ace-up-the=sleeve to have..
As we are all music lovers at heart, and want to support new talent, 'soft management' and advice options are free to bands for whom we have arranged gigs (subject to demand).
Choirs and Orchestras
The needs of the touring choir or orchestra are very different to that of a small self-contained band. Fortunately, we have extensive experience in this field and can arrange appropriate venues, itineraries, travel and accommodation where required, for large groups, being mindful of the logistics of instrument transport.
Social, post-performance venues and catering can also be arranged allowing your ensemble some much needed r&r following your concert.
